Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Bierman Smit Inc. Attorneys collects through this website, why we collect it and what rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who is responsible for your information
Bierman Smit Inc. Attorneys is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website. You can reach us at admin@bsinc.co.za or on 010 157 2405 for any privacy question or request.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us through the contact form or WhatsApp, namely your name, phone number, email address if you provide it and the details of your enquiry. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security and technical purposes.
Why we collect it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry and to assess and assist with your claim. By sending an enquiry you agree that we may use your details to contact you about it. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for marketing.
Cookies and website analytics
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those fonts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit. It sets no cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you to other websites.
Who else may process it
The contact form is handled by a third-party form service, Formspree, which delivers your message to our email. If you contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp handles that message. These providers may process information on servers outside South Africa. The website is hosted by a South African hosting provider.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry only as long as we need it to assist you and to meet our professional and legal obligations as attorneys.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted and to object to how it is used. To make any of these requests, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always appear on this page.
